Marktplatz-Center Neubrandenburg | Opening Hours & Parking

The Marktplatz-Center Neubrandenburg is one of the central shopping destinations in the city center, combining short distances with a wide range of everyday offerings, spontaneous purchases, and longer shopping trips. Officially, the center is located at Krämerstraße 1a and is described on the website as a conveniently accessible location at the marketplace; access is also provided via Marktplatz 2, allowing visitors to reach the center directly by car, on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport. On two floors, there are more than 70 shops, along with a large parking garage with 320 covered parking spaces, bicycle parking, E-charging points in the underground garage, and various service offerings that make the visit pleasant and manageable. Thus, the Marktplatz-Center is not only a place to shop but also a practical meeting point in the middle of the city, where everyday tasks, errands, and short breaks can be easily combined. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/))

Opening Hours, Shop Hours, and Best Visiting Times

For planning a visit, the official opening hours are the most important starting point. The Marktplatz-Center is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and closed on Sundays. At the same time, the operator's website explicitly points out that the opening hours of individual shops and gastronomy businesses may vary. This is what makes the difference for many visitors: If someone is specifically planning to visit a particular store, make a quick purchase, or have a coffee appointment, they should always check the respective shop page. For practical SEO searches, terms like opening hours, shop hours, center plan, and access are particularly relevant because they are directly related to visit planning and trigger the greatest information needs. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/service/oeffnungszeiten/))

The official opening hours page also lists special dates for 2026. These include shopping Sundays on August 30, November 8, and November 29, each from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, as well as a late-night shopping event on October 24 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. For the year-end, the page also mentions shortened hours on December 24 and 31 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Such special dates are particularly important for the demand for shopping Sundays and special opening hours because they show that the center not only operates under regular conditions but also offers additional visiting windows for selected occasions. Therefore, anyone planning a special shopping trip should keep an eye on the dates and allow a bit more time for access, parking search, and the tour on action days. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/service/oeffnungszeiten/?utm_source=openai))

Another practical point is the varying times in individual areas. The center flyer states that grocery stores have longer opening hours from Monday to Saturday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, while the center parking garage has opening hours from Monday to Saturday between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Even though the operator's site primarily communicates the center hours today, this note from the official flyer is important for user logic: Not every shop follows the central rhythm of the house, and particularly local suppliers or heavily frequented areas may open earlier or be accessible longer. This results in a simple visiting strategy: Those who want to shop specifically should come during the regular center hours during the day; those who only want to run individual errands can orient themselves to the varying times and thereby avoid waiting times. Shops, Brands, and Gastronomy in the Marktplatz-Center

The variety of shops is one of the strongest arguments for the Marktplatz-Center. On the official homepage, the operator explicitly emphasizes that the range includes everything from large brands to specialty shops. Mentioned are, among others, Douglas, Deichmann, Media Markt, Telekom Shop, Vitalia, and Thalia. Additionally, there are other well-known brands and stores like arko, Bijou Brigitte, Camp David | Soccx, Fielmann, Intersport, Vero Moda, ONLY, Pepco, McPaper, Hunkemöller, and other providers from the fields of fashion, technology, beauty, office supplies, accessories, and lifestyle. For the search for stores or photos, this mix is relevant because it positions the center not as a monotonous mall but as a versatile city center address where many everyday errands can be completed in one round. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/))

The gastronomy is also clearly integrated. The official website currently mentions, among others, Bäckerei Gesche, Eiskiosk, and Robbels Frische Pasta. The offering is complemented by the shop pages and categories, where the operator lists various redemption options, fast-food areas, and other gastronomy businesses. This is particularly interesting for visitors because the center is not only a shopping area but also a short stay location: a coffee, a snack, or a lunch can be directly combined with shopping. This also explains why terms like shops, pharmacy, gastro, and opening hours are so closely related in keyword analysis. Those who combine several errands in the center benefit from the dense location and the compact layout, which keeps the distances between shop, gastronomy, and service short. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/))

Access, Parking, and Underground Garage

For many visitors, the question of parking and underground garage is crucial. The Marktplatz-Center describes itself as centrally located in the city center at the marketplace, and the access page refers to a sustainable and practical accessibility: The nearby train station and bus station allow for arrival by public transport, 80 bicycle parking spaces are available, and E-charging stations are located in the underground garage. Those arriving by car should enter Marktplatz 2, 17033 Neubrandenburg into their navigation device. Additionally, the center flyer points out that the parking garage is accessible via Krämerstraße. This combination of city center location, public transport connection, and its own parking garage makes the center particularly attractive for short errands. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/service/anfahrt-parken/anfahrt/?utm_source=openai))

The center flyer from the official material mentions 320 covered parking spaces and also points out barrier-free parking as well as the parking value card. The parking value card is interesting for people who want to park cashless and with bonuses; the flyer even provides an example where charging and parking can be combined. For the keyword topics underground garage, parking, and parking garage, it is also important that the operator explicitly understands the connection between car and shopping as part of the service promise. The charging stations in the underground garage are also a strong signal for modern mobility, as according to a news article, a total of 10 charging points with 50 or 150 kW have been available since April 2026. For users who want to combine e-car, family, or short shopping stops, this is a tangible advantage. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/fileadmin/user_upload/CENTERS/MCN/center/MCN490_Centerfolder_Feb2019_396x210_190219CD_1_.pdf))

The location is convenient not only for drivers but also for visitors who are on foot. The operator describes the center as centrally located in the city center and thus easily accessible from the surrounding residential areas. This fits the character of the building as a city center shopping mall: errands can be completed on the way through the city without having to plan for long detours or parking searches. However, those who come during peak times should still note that a well-visited center in the city center can naturally have more crowds. This is exactly why searches for access, parking, and underground garage are so relevant: They answer the question of how to use a city center location with as little friction as possible. The Marktplatz-Center provides a very clear answer with parking garage, bicycle parking spaces, public transport connections, and e-mobility offerings. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/service/anfahrt-parken/anfahrt/?utm_source=openai))

Services and Comfort for Everyday Life

A good shopping center thrives not only on shops but also on the small details that make the stay pleasant. The official service area of the Marktplatz-Center mentions, among other things, a kid-car rental and a customer information desk that visitors can turn to with questions. The older, but official center flyer adds this comfort level with elevators to all floors, escalators, toilets including barrier-free use, lockers, a baby changing room, a baby nursing room, a first aid room, a massage chair on the upper floor, free Wi-Fi throughout the center, bicycle racks, and a taxi notice at the Krämerstraße entrance. For users looking for pharmacies, vouchers, or center plans, this density of services is important because it makes the Marktplatz-Center appear as a functional everyday place rather than just a shopping area. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/services/auto-und-parken/))

The parking and access structure is also designed for comfort. The flyer points out barrier-free parking in the parking garage, while the current service area names the customer information desk as a point of contact. The center plan or site plan is available separately on the website, which is particularly helpful in a building with multiple floors and many tenants. Additionally, there is a connection from the parking garage access in the basement, central entrances, and a clear guiding system to all levels. This mix of orientation, barrier-free access, and practical services is one reason why the search terms center plan, parking, pharmacy, and voucher appear so frequently: visitors want to know in advance how to find their way quickly and whether the most important points of contact are easily accessible. The Marktplatz-Center meets this expectation with an infrastructure that focuses on short distances and easy use. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/service/plan/lageplan/))

History and Significance in the City Center

The Marktplatz-Center has a clear urban planning role in Neubrandenburg. Several official and city-related sources place the opening in September 1998; the IHK names September 16, 1998, as the opening date, and the city’s timeline confirms that the center opened its doors in 1998. The center flyer also mentions more than 70 shops on two floors, while the historical data sheet shows a sales area of about 12,500 square meters, around 70 shops, and 320 parking spaces. This makes it clear that the center was planned from the beginning as a significant building block in the city center and not just as a single store address. For the search for history or background, this is particularly relevant: The Marktplatz-Center is not a randomly grown place but a deliberately placed shopping focal point that continues to shape the city center today. ([neubrandenburg.ihk.de](https://www.neubrandenburg.ihk.de/fileadmin/user_upload/Presse/IHK-Zeitung/07-08_Faktor_2023_screen.pdf?utm_source=openai))

The location directly at the marketplace makes the connection between shopping and cityscape particularly visible. In the official materials and city sources, the center is described as part of the city center and as a neighbor to historical places like Treptower Tor, Stargarder Tor, Sankt Marienkirche, or the city wall. This creates a typical Neubrandenburg mix: modern commercial use meets historical surroundings, and a visit to the center can be easily combined with a walk through the old town. For users searching for photos or reviews, this urban planning integration is also important because it shapes the impression of the building. The Marktplatz-Center is not an isolated box on the outskirts of the city but an urban shopping center embedded in the flow of the city center, characterized by short distances and proximity to central public places. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/fileadmin/user_upload/CENTRAL/Leasing/Booklets/ece-marketplaces-standort-center-booklet-marktplatz-center-neubrandenburg.pdf))

The operator on the website is ECE Marketplaces GmbH & Co. KG. This is also helpful for classification because ECE has been developing and operating large shopping centers in Germany for many years. The Marktplatz-Center thus belongs to an established center landscape where management, leasing, service, and marketing work closely together. This is relevant for SEO and user inquiries because terms like center, site plan, rental inquiry, services, and current information not only denote individual content but also explain the structure of the entire building. Those who want to understand the history of the center see a city center project from 1998 that has been continuously modernized, marketed, and adapted to current requirements to this day. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/center/))

Vouchers, Promotions, and Shopping Sundays

A particularly in-demand topic is the center voucher. The official voucher page of the Marktplatz-Center describes it as a way to flexibly give joy; according to the overview there, the voucher can be redeemed at many participating shops and is available in flexible amounts. The FAQ also explains that the ECE center voucher is a rechargeable gift card that can be used in participating ECE shopping centers and that it can be purchased online or directly on-site at the participating center. On the page of participating shops, well-known redemption points include Douglas, Thalia, Deichmann, Media Markt, Rossmann, Only, Intersport, Bijou Brigitte, and Tchibo. For search queries like voucher, vouchers, center voucher, or buy voucher, this is a clear added value because the user immediately recognizes how widely the voucher can be redeemed. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/centergutschein/?utm_source=openai))

The current promotions also speak to the lively character of the center. The homepage regularly publishes offers and news, such as promotional offers from Pepco, Hunkemöller, and engbers, as well as announcements of events in the center. A current news report, for example, announces the expansion of the E-charging infrastructure and refers to 10 charging points in the underground garage, while an event announcement draws attention to football fan articles. This mix shows that the Marktplatz-Center is not only a place for standard shopping but a location with ongoing promotions, service expansions, and changing events. This is exactly why search queries like reviews, photos, shopping Sunday, and current offers are so typical: users want to know not only what the center generally offers but also what is happening today and in the coming weeks. ([marktplatz-center.de](https://www.marktplatz-center.de/))

Those who want to plan their visit particularly carefully should keep an eye on the special openings and seasonal dates. The official opening hours page of the center lists several fixed exceptions for 2026, making it clear that a regular look at the website is worthwhile. Especially during the pre-Christmas season, on action days, and on shopping Sundays, the center can be significantly busier, which directly affects parking, visit duration, and shop visits. At the same time, the regular center hours from Monday to Saturday provide reliability in everyday life. This combination of planned standard operation and seasonal special dates is exactly what many visitors appreciate in a city center center: one can come spontaneously as well as plan specific dates. I do not need to be covered in cigarette smoke every time I try to get inside this very nice shopping mall, really? Especially during these COVID-19 times. I wish there were no smokers standing right in front of all the entrances...

This is the only and one shopping mall in Neubrandenburg. Everybody goes there for shopping and leisure and to see the community. The shopping facilities are all the regular ones you find in any place in German cities. But it's just a good place to meet local people. Even better is the nice city center place in front of the shopping mall, it's big and modern and has an exciting water fountain in summer (the kids will enjoy it too much!).

Bad behavior toward foreign customers. Unpleasant and unfriendly staff. They can't speak English in the year 2017. I think they need to read the constitution of Germany over and over so they will know the basic rights of human beings in Germany. Article 3 [Equality] (1) All humans are equal before the law. ... (3) No one may be disadvantaged or favored because of his sex, parentage, race, language, homeland and origin, his faith, or his religious or political opinions. No one may be disadvantaged because of his handicap.

Good shopping mall in Neubrandenburg. There is no better place there to find so many different stores in one place close to the city. A couple of minutes away is the city wall and a great concert church!

It's really a good place. Almost everything is available. But I can't see everyone wearing a mask due to corona.
