Menu, Breakfast, and Brunch: Variety from Early to Late

The culinary offerings at the GÜTERBAHNHOF Restaurant cover the entire day and are based on clear time windows: Monday to Friday, the day starts with a breakfast offering from 07:30 to 10:30 AM. Here, classic breakfast components and a selection of hot and cold dishes are offered, ensuring that both early risers and late sleepers can enjoy their meals. On Saturdays, the day begins with a late riser breakfast from 09:00 to 12:00 PM – ideal for starting the weekend without haste. A special highlight is the Sunday brunch from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, which rounds off the breakfast offerings with hearty and sweet components, hot dishes, and fresh sides for a relaxed weekend ritual. Those who dine at lunchtime will find a lunch menu with weekly changing dishes from Monday to Friday between 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM. The range of the kitchen extends from burgers and bowls to regional and traditional classics. It is complemented by seasonal boards featuring changing recommendations depending on the time of year. Editorial restaurant directories mention dishes such as classic beef roulade with red cabbage and boiled potatoes, fried redfish fillet with homemade potato salad, or lamb chops with mushroom pan, cherry tomatoes, and pear-potato mash – indications that alongside burgers, traditional handcrafted dishes with modern accents are also maintained. The price orientation for main courses typically ranges from around 18 to 30 euros, with seasonal components and meat or fish qualities determining the specific pricing. In parallel to the food offerings, various promotions occur throughout the week: Monday is Burger Day focusing on the wide burger selection, Tuesday is Schnitzel Day, and Wednesday features a buffet that varies by theme – for example, Mediterranean – ranging from antipasti to warm classics. The drink selection includes its own premium pilsner; additionally, non-alcoholic alternatives, hot drinks, and – depending on the season – homemade specials are available. Due to the breadth of the menu, the restaurant is equally suitable for families, couples, friend groups, and business guests who desire quick meals during lunchtime or an extended evening out.

Opening Hours, Reservations, and Service Overview

The opening hours follow a clear and hospitable daily schedule: Monday to Friday 07:30–10:30 AM breakfast, 11:30 AM–2:00 PM lunchtime, and from 5:00 PM the evening menu. On Saturdays, a late riser breakfast is offered from 09:00–12:00 PM, after which the kitchen opens for the evening. On Sundays, the house invites guests for brunch from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM and serves the evening menu again from 5:00 PM. Important for those wishing to dine after work: the evening menu is available daily. Tables can be conveniently reserved via the online form on the website. Here, you can not only specify the date, time, and number of guests but also dietary preferences (vegetarian or vegan) and intolerances (e.g., lactose or gluten) – this facilitates the team's preparation and ensures a relaxed experience at the table. Alternatively, reservations can be made by phone at 0395 4 555 666; you can reach the team via email at restaurant@güterbahnhof.de. For those planning with larger groups, it is beneficial that the restaurant is part of a versatile area: additional spaces and partner offers are available in the Güterbahnhof vicinity for celebrations. A practical tip: for the Sunday brunch and peak times in the evening, early reservations are recommended, as the central location and recurring promotional days can increase demand. Last-minute changes – such as seasonal menus, promotional evenings, or holiday opening hours – are usually communicated first on the website or official channels; in case of uncertainties, a quick call to the restaurant is worthwhile.

Directions & Parking: How to Arrive Relaxed

Thanks to its location on Friedrich-Engels-Ring, the GÜTERBAHNHOF Restaurant is easily accessible from all directions. Those arriving by car should follow the Friedrich-Engels-Ring to the city center and take the first exit to the right after the Pferdemarkt intersection; from there, it is just a few meters to the area at Güterbahnhof 5. For guests arriving by train or bus, the connection is particularly convenient: from Neubrandenburg train station and bus station, the walk to the restaurant takes about five minutes. This makes the location excellent for city trips, appointment breaks, or a hassle-free stop after arrival and departure. In terms of parking, the city center offers several options. Common parking facilities include the underground garages at the marketplace or marketplace center as well as the Pferdemarkt area; depending on the time of day, occupancy, and any events, a quick look at a parking or city app or the signage on site is advisable. Those exploring the city on foot can easily reach the restaurant via the paths around Friedrich-Engels-Ring. For navigation devices, the addresses Am Güterbahnhof 5 (Restaurant) or Friedrich-Engels-Ring 1 (Area/Arrival Information) are recommended. Visitors heading to the area for the first time can orient themselves with the large ring roads of B 96 and B 104 around the city center as well as the signage towards Pferdemarkt and the marketplace. Overall, it holds true: due to the proximity to public transport hubs and parking garages, a relaxed arrival without long searches for parking is realistic – especially outside of major events in the city.

Atmosphere, Location, and Special Features of the Area

The restaurant is part of the Güterbahnhof world, which is known in Neubrandenburg as the “new center” and combines not only gastronomy but also accommodation and other uses. The Mohnblau Bar & Smoking Lounge is part of the gastronomic offerings at the location and extends the restaurant visit with a bar evening in close proximity. Action Days, Lunchtime, and Drinks: Enjoyable Planning

Three fixed action days during the week provide recurring highlights that bring the food offerings to the forefront and ensure variety: Monday features Burger Day, where the wide range of burgers is particularly noticeable. Tuesday follows with Schnitzel Day – a reminiscence of the popular German-Austrian classic in various forms. Finally, on Wednesdays, the buffet invites thematic discoveries; an example is the Mediterranean buffet, which brings southern flair to the plate with herbs, antipasti, warm vegetable dishes, and suitable main courses. Those dining at lunchtime will find a weekly changing lunch menu from Monday to Friday from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM – practical for a quick break between appointments or as a reliable meeting point among colleagues. Starting at 5:00 PM, the evening menu begins with classics, seasonal recommendations, and burgers; depending on the season, special boards complement the offerings. When it comes to drinks, it’s worth checking out the in-house GÜTERBAHNHOF Premium Pils, which is recommended by the house. Additionally, non-alcoholic beverages, coffee specialties, and – seasonally – other highlights are available. The combination of clear time windows, recurring promotions, and seasonal variety makes planning easy: for example, those aiming for brunch on Sunday can perfectly combine it with a walk in the city center; those who only have time in the evening after a workday can confidently choose the daily available evening menu. Tip: Since popular slots – such as brunch spots or Monday evenings for burger fans – can fill up quickly, timely reservations via form or phone are advisable.
